Equipment Database

 

       Chemical operations frequently involve the same equipment items from one process to another.  In such cases, one needs to have access to the same design data on an ongoing basis.  The Equipment Database is used to store pertinent data such as type, building, and asset number.  Data which is normally required for emission calculations includes the working and void space volumes of a vessel.  The basic data requirements for storage tank calculations, however, is substantially more complex and involves many more factors. 

 

       Start the Equipment Database window by selecting Equipment from the main popup Database menu.  A list of existing equipment records for the database will be displayed on the left and details concerning a given record will be displayed on the right.  To view a particular record one may either scroll through the list of names and select the desired record from the list or type the record name in the upper list box entry area. 

 

An explanation of the data entry fields and requirements are described as follows:

 

Record Group Box

· Add:  Press this button to add a record to the currently connected Equipment Database.  Once in the equipment addition window, the new equipment record may be defined after selecting the desired equipment type (process vessel, storage tank, ...). 

· Update:  Select this button if it is desired to change or edit the contents of the current equipment record. 

· Delete:  The currently selected record may be deleted from the list by way of the delete button.
