Specifying a Gas Sweep or Purge

The gas space within a process vessel will contain vapors from the volatile components of its liquid contents as well as other residual noncondensable gas components which make up the total system pressure of the process vessel.  In many cases the residual noncondensable gas components are due to the presence of air (if the vessel is freely vented to the atmosphere) or nitrogen (if the vessel is purged with nitrogen for safety purposes).  You may add to the list of compounds that you may use for a Purge or Sweep gas by adding them to the Noncondensables Database.
