Vent Path Database

During the course of creating Emission Master recipe files, the modeler may find himself repetitively making the same control device assignment for a given process vessel.  In some cases, a vessel may be operated such that two or more separate vent paths are specified during the same process.  The Vent Path Database is a resource that enables the modeler to store common vent path configurations to be used during future modeling activities.  For example, a vent path consisting of the following vent path assignment {RE-100 -> CN-100 -> CN-200 > Vent 100} may be saved in the Vent Path Database for future use at a later time within the program.  A second vent path {RE-100 -> SC-100 -> Vent 125} could also be saved.  Later, the person could easily select between these two established vent paths when creating a subsequent process model that features the vessel RE-100.

There are two ways that new records may be entered into the vent path database.  First, vent path records may be added, modified, or removed using the buttons at the bottom of the database interface.  Second, existing vent path records may be extracted from the currently loaded Emission Master recipe file using the 'Import All Vent Paths from Current Process' button.  When selecting this second option Emission Master will evaluate all of the available unique vent path combinations and mark which records are already present in the database and which ones are new.  The person can then select which records should be added to the Vent Path Database.

Once the Vent Path Database has been populated with common vent path configurations then the modeler can easily select from the available vent path configurations when creating a new process activity model.  Access to the Vent Path Database is made using the drop down list box located at the Vent ID box on any of the Activity Models (Charge, Heat, ...).  When a vent path has been selected then Emission Master will correctly populate the Control Devices and Vent ID that have been defined for the specified vessel.
