Equipment Unit Permits

An Equipment Unit Permit is used for emissions tracking purposes for one or more Equipment Units.  Select Permits from the Databases main menu to access a list of existing permits that have already been created.  Click on the Add button and select 'Equipment Unit Permit Limits' from the list of available permit types.  A description of files contained on the Equipment Unit Permit Limits form is as follows:

Name: Enter a unique string that refers to this Equipment Unit Permit.

Report Classification Set: An available report classification set is chosen from list of existing report classification sets that have been previously entered.

Type: Two styles of Equipment Unit Permits are available.

Process

If the permit being created is to track the hourly emission rate then 'Process' should be selected since Emissions Accountant will be calculating the average hourly emission rate for any equipment units that are used in the process.

Production

If the permit being created is for the purpose of tracking emissions over a calendar number of days such as a portion of a year or for the entire year then this option should be selected.  Emissions Accountant will calculate the emissions that has occurred for all of the batches that have run in the calendar period of interest for each Equipment Unit that has been included.

Equipment Units in Set

Select the Add Set button to open the Equipment Unit Permit Set window where Equipment Units are selected from the list of existing units in the system.

Compounds Permit Limits

Compounds to be tracked for the Equipment Units that have been specified are chosen from the Chemical database.  Emission quantities are entered for each compound are based on the type of permit being created.  If the permit being created is a Process type then the quantities entered are  based on an average one hour or operation.  If the permit being created is a Production permit then the quantities entered represent the emissions that have occurred from all batches that have run during the days that the report has been configured when the report is being run.

Classification Permit Limits

Compound classification to be tracked for the Equipment Units that have been specified are chosen from the specified Classification Set.  Emission quantities are entered for each classification based on the type of permit being created.  If the permit being created is a Process type then the quantities entered are  based on an average one hour or operation.  If the permit being created is a Production permit then the quantities entered represent the emissions that have occurred from all batches that have run during the days that the report has been configured when the report is being run.
